I have an idea I want to try – an informal gathering of SAZBA members and others interested in beekeeping to get together and talk about our craft.

I don’t intend this as a substitute for the monthly SAZBA meetings but rather a supplement. The SAZBA meetings are a good opportunity to hear interesting programs and to pick up useful information about such things as pollen and nectar flows, swarming, etc. The agenda is typically so full, however, that there is not enough time to talk about our bees, to meet other beekeepers, and to ask questions of one another.

The first gathering of Coffee and Beekeeping will be next Saturday, February 3 at 9:30 AM at Beyond Bread at Ina and Oracle. We will meet in the large room on the east side.

All are welcome, even those who have never had bees. There is no agenda, just fellowship and a chance to share information.

When it comes to beekeeping, we all are newbies, even those who have had bees for many years.

I hope you are able to join me on Saturday.
